Choreographed Order Working Together



Initial Phone Consultation:

Our working relationship begins with a complimentary phone consultation lasting approximately 30 minutes. During this time we discuss your organizational situation and goals. This phone call also affords the opportunity to ask questions of each other. At this time, we also decide whether or not to move forward with an on-site consultation, or organizing session.

What to expect: Because Choreographed Order needs to gain a clear understanding of your organizational situation, in order to provide the best possible solutions, we will ask general information questions (Examples: Where are you located? How long have you lived in your home?), general lifestyle questions (Examples: Do you work outside the home or from home? Do you have children?), and questions pertaining to the particular area(s) you would like to have organized (Examples: What area in your home is the biggest challenge for you organizationally? Have you made past attempts at organizing a particular space? What were the results?).

Choreographed Order's advice: Organizing someone's home environment is very personal in nature, so we need to make sure that as client and organizer, we are a good fit. Establishing a bond of trust and professionalism is paramount to Choreographed Order. Choreographed Order adheres to the code of ethics set forth by the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) to ensure that the services you receive are performed with the highest quality and utmost integrity. Choreographed Order also wants to ensure that our specialty areas and skill sets are suited to your organizational needs. If we do not have the services to accommodate your needs, we will not hesitate to suggest the services of another qualified professional. [top]

On-site Consultation:

Our working relationship continues with a one hour, on-site consultation. This consultation allows us to meet in person, tour the space(s) together, begin to formulate a plan of action, and gives us an idea of what it would be like to work together. Please note: Although there is a charge for the on-site consultation, payable in the form of cash or check to Choreographed Order at the time of the consultation, Choreographed Order will credit the amount towards our first hands-on organizing session in the event that we continue to work together. If we do not continue working together after the on-site consultation, the consultation fee will not be credited or refunded.

What to expect: During this session, we begin by exploring the area(s) where organization is required. As we explore, Choreographed Order helps you assess the organizational challenges at hand, and introduces you to the organizational process. This process allows us to create a vision, implement the necessary changes and ultimately transform the space. Choreographed Order takes notes as we go so that we can begin to establish a tangible plan for further organizing sessions. During this session we also decide whether or not we would like to schedule some hands-on organizing sessions.

Choreographed Order's Advice: A picture is worth a thousand words, and Choreographed Order needs to see your environment as it is so that the most effective changes can be made. There is no need to clean up before Choreographed Order arrives. In fact, we prefer you leave your spaces as they are so we can better understand your challenges. There is also no reason to feel embarrassed or guilty about your spaces. We understand it takes courage and determination to make a positive change. The Hands-On Organizing Sessions:

Our working relationship grows as we move into the hands-on organizing sessions. Talking about and planning for organizational changes are essential, but during the hands-on organizing sessions, the rubber really meets the road! We usually work in blocks of time somewhere between 2 and 6 hours. The time involved depends on the nature and scope of the project, as well as the interaction between the client and Choreographed Order. During these sessions we get down to the business of sorting, purging, assigning homes to, and finding appropriate containers for your belongings. We also address such issues as time management, daily task structuring, and space planning. These sessions can continue until the project is complete, or as time, and budgetary considerations allow.

What to expect: Hands-on organizing is a combination of physical, mental, and emotional effort for all involved. Choreographed Order likes to work in tandem with you so that you are a full participant in the process. You are the primary decision-maker for your belongings. Although Choreographed Order will provide guidance, and step you through the decision-making process, your input is paramount. Also, being involved is very much a part of the learning process that teaches you to maintain an organized environment. Being fully involved can also help save you time and money because you can implement the processes Choreographed Order teaches and continue to work through the process on your own time or with additional projects.

Choreographed Order's Advice: Choreographed Order understands that not everyone has the time, energy, desire, or otherwise to dedicate to the organizing process. Some people just want or need the job done. No problem. Choreographed Order can work independently on many aspects of the process, and involve you as your situation or the project allows. Maintenance and Keeping In Touch with Choreographed Order:

By now we have probably worked our way through one if not several projects together. We have established a positive working relationship, and have perhaps shifted our focus to strategies for helping you to maintain an organized life, or to methods for helping you organize your own way through additional projects. Either way, Choreographed Order is available for on-going support, motivation and accountability via phone, email, or additional hands-on organizing sessions.

What to expect: Choreographed Order will contact you via phone, email, or written correspondence 2 or 3 times within 2 months after working with you to follow-up on the positive changes that organization has brought to your life. We will offer encouragement and advice as you continue to adjust to your organizational systems. After this two month period, you may receive more sporadic communications from Choreographed Order, but please know we are always ready to further assist you should you desire.

Choreographed Order's Advice: Choreographed Order advises scheduling regular organizational tune-ups throughout the year in order to keep your organizational systems running smoothly. Making the time and effort to invest in organization will ultimately save you time, money, and energy, and bring optimal function to your spaces.
